The Degraffenreid and Wood Families established Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, opening its doors in 1989 with the goal of serving Springfield and the surrounding cities and counties with the utmost care, respect and dignity. In 1991 the Wood family bought the Degraffenreid interest of the funeral home and continues to operate the funeral home today. They built their reputation on over 70 years of experience in providing meaningful funeral services for the communities that they live in and care about.
Walnut Lawn Funeral Home offers full funeral services, graveside, cremation services (including direct cremation), and prearrangements. We can accommodate any cultural, religious, or financial funeral service, and have funeral plans to fit any style and budget.
 Funeral Home Manager Jim Carver graduated from Cypress Mortuary College in 1994 and started his career in Oceanside, CA. with Eternal Hills Mortuary. In 1999, I and my family moved to Bolivar, MO where I took employment with Butler Funeral Home. I came to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in 2006 and took over Management of the facilities in 2008. I am a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. I am married to a wonderful woman Angela and have four daughters; Cassandra, Amanda, Ashley and Mylissa. I am also dedicated to Youth Ministry.
