     Dr. Frank Gatchell Shepard, Jr., age 66, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008, in his home in Springfield, Mo. He was born August 12, 1941 in Souix City, IA, the son of Frank Gatchell Shepard Sr and Dolores Louise (Fisher) Shepard.
      Frank was the Dean of Academics and taught History at Ozark Technical College from the time OTC was founded. Prior to coming to OTC Frank taught in several countries overseas for many years. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
     He is survived by his two sisters, Cynthia S. Shepard of Springfield, Mo. and Virginia Louise Reed and husband Dennis of Hobart, Ind., a niece, three nephews, and many collegues and friends.
     Arrangements are being handled by Walnut Lawn Funeral Home LTD, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn St., Springfield, Mo.. A Memorial service will be at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 PM Tuesday, March 25, 2008. In lieu of flowers the family ask for memorial contributions to be made to the Battlefield Fire Department or the Greene County Sheriff Department.
